Minutes of the SCART AGM on Tuesday 19th April 2011
PRESENT: Colin (G4KLB), Paul (M6PJD) and Tina, John (G0HAT), Peter (2E0DOO), Jim (G0DQH), Frank (G0LFI), Christine (M6UBI), Simon (G0IEY), Julia (G0IUY), John (G4WQZ), Tony (G3KTU), Peter (G3PYB), Howard (G3NZL), Tony (G7OGT), Norman (G3UXR), Dave (2E1EOO), John (M1BAI), Eric (G3KXE) (part), Dave (G8AJN) and Mike (G3TOI) .
APOLOGIES: Jack (M1CHO).
There were 19 paid up members present and this met the quorum of 11.
1) Chairman and 2) Secretary’s Report by Tony (G7OGT)
Jim (G0DQH) wished everyone a good evening and welcomed all to the meeting. He commented that attendance was good and the year had been busy and enjoyable. G0DQH gave thanks to the club for allowing him to be chairman for the year, and remarked that it had been an honour.
Jim (G0DQH) hoped in some way that he had been able to assist the club. He stated that we are fortunate to have not only an excellent repeater, but also an outstanding technical team to make it operate. There was still much to be done, however, with developments on 70cm and 10GHz. Thanks were given for the use of The Castle Inn as a venue for the meeting and junk sale.
2) Secretary’s Report by Tony (G7OGT)
Tony (G7OGT) thanked everyone for attending. He reported that there were 22 members last year, 2 more than previously. The long term trend over the years was said to be fairly steady. Tony (G7OGT) remarked that he had not been very active during the year, other than with duties connected with his secretarial role.
Tony (G7OGT) announced that he may operate portable during the last week of June or the first week in July, during the visit of Dave (G8TNE) from Derby. He asked all members to keep him informed directly of any changes to e-mail addresses and contact details.
3) Treasurer's Report and proposal for 2011-12 subscription levels, by Frank (G0LFI)
Frank (G0LFI) reported on another good year for the club, keeping expenditure down as much as possible, despite many trips to GB3IV for development of the repeater. He thanked the Horndean amateur radio club for letting SCART club use their stall at the Wimborne rally. This gave some useful income for the SCART club
A balance of £1679.73 was reported. Accounts were available for inspection during the meeting.
Subscriptions of £20, the same as last year, were proposed by Howard (G3NZL) and seconded by Juila (G0IUY). With no objections this subscription level was carried, for the forthcoming club year.
4) Communication Officer’s Report by Howard (G3NZL)
"Good evening".
I won't bore you with repeats of my previous years' offerings because so little has changed in the Comms area - there have again been no submissions to make "In Sync" etc possible, so I think that the Comms Officer's title is effectively redundant.
However we have had another successful year technically (except for the inevitable hiccups, such as the 555 timer chip that is currently refusing to permit instant access)! and Peter (G3PYB) will outline some of the changes that have taken place and forthcoming attractions after I have finished.
