2) Transmit your normal analogue output to the repeater and check you are not limiting, crushing the peak whites or over deviating. Any "sparklies" seen will be caused by the effects of your TX on IV's input. The audio levels are also quite precise.

Re defaults and Resets:

Please note that everything resets to defaults after each Silence Period (e.g onto 23cm analogue Tx/Rx until the majority of users have "gone digital").

Ident video level:

We have one outstanding level to set at the transmitter, the Station Ident "GB3IV", the camera captions and the signal strength bar video level is set too high. We hope to reset this on the next visit.

10GHz systems:

Two dishes and one wideband LNC (Low Noise Converter, a.k.a. LNB) are mounted on the mast and should be working. An analogue receiver is also on 10.065Mhz for FM reception and we would like to change this to a Comtech (in accordance with my NoV – Ed)! This will then provide "S" meter bargraph displays as a default facility on 3cm too.

Only simple field tests have been made with the help of John (MIBAI) at John's (G0HAT) QTH; we would like to make some detailed sensitively measurements on a future visit to confirm the performance of the receivers. However please do try the 10GHz reception and let us know the results.

The Bournemouth fixed dish.

Apologies for cramming a lot of info into a small space but unfortunately I didn't have the available time to produce the next step up (of double the pages and editing).

"STOP PRESS:"

On our first Net Night after the above facilities were available, six stations adjusted their digital receivers and were able to obtain first class results using IV's digital output – please join us soon!
